Hello all, I am looking forward to journeying together in this Easter Triduum with you. It will be a new experience to do it online but grateful for the new ways that can lead us closer to Jesus in His Passover and closer to each other.
I am Margarida, a Verbum Dei missionary, based in our Verbum Dei retreat centre on the isle of wight. Actually, for those who don’t know me, I am the one that did the introductory video clips here above.
Please, use this chat to introduce yourselves to all the group, in a brief way.

Hello, I am Olly / Olivia. I have known and loved the Community for more than 20 years! I am the Catholic Chaplain at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, London University). Thank you for this online retreat, I am so grateful. It feels like the Church has gone back to house churches and I am so happy to have you ‘in’ my home. I am praying especially that the Holy Spirit fills my home and my heart. Praying for you all and especially for those who do not yet know God. Help me Lord to reach out to them, those who do not have access to all this online help. xxx

    Hello All,
I am Sharon from the US, living for the past 14years on the Isle of Wight. Easter Retreat with Verbum Dei has always been special to me as it was here, 6 years ago, that I returned to Jesus after being away from him for many, many years.
I am particularly looking forward to having Mary lead me by the hand on this journey this year – to see and experience Jesus’ passion through her grace and love.
I am so grateful to Verbum Dei for making this happen during these hard day’s….

  6. Catherine Spreckley says:

Hi All, I’m Catherine. Living in Hertfordshire, UK. I’m looking forward to being with you all ‘virtually’ for this Triduum. I hope and pray you all have a special few days xx

  7. Bernie Healy says:

    Hi All
I am joining you from Dublin. I am excited about the retreat at this time of isolation, it’s a good way to make the most of this gift of time. I have done many retreats with the VD community on the Isle of Wight in the past. What better way to meet Jesus than in your own home and in the nuts and bolts of everyday life. Thank you to all the missionaries for being so creative with technology so as to allow me to be here this Easter. Praying for you all over these days.

  8. Isabel Pinto says:

    Hi Everyone,

My expectation is to understand Jesus Passion (why?)

  9. Katie Bizley says:

Hi everyone, I’m Katie from Southampton and currently staying with my grandma so we can keep each other company and look after each other during this time. I work at the University of Southampton and have known the community some 2 years or so now. In quarantine I’m hoping this gift of the online retreat will help to connect deeply in community to the mysteries, sorrows and joys of the Easter Triduum. I have also had quite a tough year and see this situation and way of celebrating Easter as a truly new unprecedented start and am looking forward to this time of prayer and transformation. God bless you all x x

Really thankful for the Verbum Dei community there for the spiritual support and nourishment and grateful to have the opportunity to journey with all of you though I’m in a different timezone. God bless!

    • Andrea says:

Hi I am Andrea living in London. I was born in Jamaica 🇯🇲 , lived in Nigeria 🇳🇬 & came to UK 🇬🇧 aged 17 . Married to George of Ghanian🇬🇭 / Benin 🇧🇯 heritage and have a stepson Robert aged 14. I am a hospital pharmacist. I have known the Verbum Dei Community since my university days over 22 years! and the story of how I met them is for another time! God works in mysterious ways is all I will say😊🙏🏽.
I am so grateful to this community as through them I discovered the power that lies in the Word of God. It is my anchor, my resting place, my home.
I haven’t had an Easter retreat in a long while as I am in my local parish choir and Easter is a busy time however due to COVID-19 I now have the opportunity to really “eat the scroll”. I have no expectations other than that I know God has prepared what I need, what I desire, what I require over these days and never fails to surprise me with his attentiveness and loving care.
My prayer for us all is to be open 🔓 to Him and allow Him to speak to the depth of our beings with no barriers. 🙏🏽

I have been on the Verbum Dei Easter Retreat on the Isle of Wight these past two years and have had such beautiful experiences. I know that the Lord desires to pour out His love and many graces during this time as well.
I am so grateful that we can all be together in prayer and on this retreat, even if it is in a virtual way. Keeping you all in my prayers and keeping close to Jesus. Kaitlin xxx
